10 mins a day, closer to God.
The book of Revelation not only gives us an amazing glimpse of the end of the age but also a wonderful promise that helps us remain hopeful in the face of all circumstances. In the end, the Lord will wipe away every tear, and there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. While no one enjoys pain and sorrow, they are inevitable in our lives on earth. In His human form, Jesus experienced pain and sorrow as well. When He was persecuted, He suffered physical pain, and when Lazarus died, He wept (John 11:35). He sacrificed Himself so that death and destruction would be swallowed up in victory, and there would be no weeping in heaven. Because of Christ's offering of Himself, we are able to rise up into the newness of life, where pain and sorrow do not exist. What a wonderful day that will be! While we may not understand the reasons behind the heartache and pain we experience in life, let us never forget that God's eternal perspective is broader than ours. We have a Savior in this world of sickness and sin, hardship and pain, who understands the grief behind every welling eye and broken heart. He is our helper and comforter today, and tomorrow, He will wipe away the tears from all of our eyes.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of a day without sorrow, tears, or pain. You are the Creator of everything, and I trust You with my future. Thank You for being with me through all my trials and pains. Although the pain can be unbearable at times, I know that's what makes me stronger. Give me the strength to endure the pain I face and to rely entirely on You. Until the new day comes, I pray that Your loving kindness and tender mercy will heal the brokenness in this world so there will be less suffering, fewer tears, and more laughter. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
Isaiah 51:12
I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die?
Psalms 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
2 Thessalonians 2:16
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace.
Isaiah 35:4
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
