Proverbs 10:14
Proverbs 10:14
The wise lay up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool brings ruin near.
Proverbs 10:14 offers a striking contrast between the wise and the foolish. The wise person accumulates knowledge, while the foolish person speaks recklessly, bringing about their own ruin. Knowledge is valuable when used wisely, and this verse highlights the importance of not just accumulating facts but applying wisdom to them. The fool, on the other hand, disregards wisdom and speaks without thought, leading to destruction. Wisdom is not just intellectual knowledge, but the practical ability to navigate life according to God’s ways. This verse encourages us to seek wisdom and to recognize the peril of living a life without it. It is a call to be cautious with our words and deliberate in seeking knowledge.
